When You Arrive

On your first visit, make sure to bring your insurance card and your completed new patient forms. If you have any questions when you arrive, our front desk associates will be more than happy to help you.

Procedures

If you do not come to us with an emergency on your first visit, you will receive a comprehensive examination, and we’ll spend some time getting to know you. Your initial appointment will take about an hour to an hour and a half from your arrival to the completion of your exam. Regular checkups provide an important role in dental health by allowing us to detect diseases and problems before they worsen. The American Dental Association recommends at least two checkups per year.

Our dental assistant or hygienist will inform you if new X-rays are necessary to update your records. We’ll discuss your health and dental history, and if you are taking any medications or have health concerns, please share this information with us. Your dentist will conduct a comprehensive oral exam to inspect your mouth for oral cancer, periodontal disease, and other problems. The dentist will also check each of your teeth for cavities, fractures, and deteriorating or faulty dental work.

After your checkup, your dentist will discuss his findings and recommend treatment options. He’ll show you X-rays and explain the details of your oral health status. Together, you and the dentist will determine the best course of actions to meet your goals.

Payment Options

We are providers under CIGNA, Delta Dental, Metlife, Guardian, Group Dental of Maryland and Anthem dental plans. We file most insurance claims electronically to expedite reimbursement. Our insurance specialists in the front office will file your claim and answer all of your questions. Based on your dental care plan, we will estimate your coverage so that you can know what to expect financially. Your estimated portion will be due at the time of service. Any balance left unpaid by insurance will be your responsibility.
